This was very frustrating news that I had this morning. A friend of mine came to tell me that his website disappeared from the search engines all of a sudden. Really not nice. He took me to his WordPress dashboard and I found he was using Yoast SEO and it is a good plugin. What did he do there that his website disappeared from the search engines? Was that website got hacked or did he copy contents from the other websites and pasted in his website or? I then checked his “Google Search Console” dashboard and there were no issues/penalties. I asked him if he did something wrong with the Yoast SEO, he said he didn’t do anything with the Yoast SEO but he installed a plugin from a website last night, his website was crashed and then he deactivated and removed it. His website came back to normal immediately but after some hours he noticed, his website disappeared from most search engines.
Whatever it was, I understood, something was not allowing robots/bots to crawl and to index his website. I then opened his “header.php” file and I added the following meta tag right below <head>.
This was the meta tag that I added,
<meta name="robots" content="index, follow">
After that, I went to his “Google Search Console” and there I requested indexing.
- I did the following things in the “Google Search Console”.
- I clicked the “URL Inspection” and there I addressed his website.
After addressing his website, I got an option to click “Request Indexing”. I clicked it and allowed it to do its work.
It was all done and we needed to wait.
Meanwhile, images below might help us to understand how it was done in the “Google Search Console’.
I don’t remember when or after how long, it was after an hour or maybe more, I typed the address/or the name of his website in the “Google Search/the other search engines” and his website was found immediately.
And it was the good news that made his day.
My fingers are crossed for your success in it. All the best.
